Thin Film Coatings
Thin film coatings are very thin layers of material deposited onto the surface of a substrate to alter it’s characteristics in some way. Most of our coatings range in thickness from 1 to 5 microns. However we do have coatings that are as thin as 200 angstroms or as thick as 5 mils.
The majority of the coatings we apply are metallic, the most common being Aluminum, Copper and Stainless Steel. These are often used to create a conductive surface that acts as a shield against Electromagnetic Interference and Radio Frequency Interference. Other coating functions include reflectivity, heat shielding, and conductive paths for antennas.
