Vacuum Metallization is the process of applying a metallic coating to a workpiece using a vacuum chamber. Under a vacuum materials will melt and evaporate at a lower temperature than they will in atmosphere. The deposition material is vaporized, disbursed and then condenses on the workpiece to form a thin metallic film. These coatings can be used for a variety of purposes such as: EMI/RFI Shielding, Conductivity, Heat Shielding and Reflectivity.
